My “yaya” just arrived from Leyte, one of the most damaged province during the typhoon Haiyan. She cried so hard when she got into the gates of our house. She travelled for three days trying to reach Cebu. Her house was ruined and no relief operations are reaching her place. Her children and her husband are left in Leyte due to the lack of funds to travel to Cebu.
I could not fathom how our government is turning a blind eye on what is happening in the country. It scares me how indifferent they are of what is happening in the damaged provinces. This is a serious issue and yet all they are broadcasting on TV is how the President is giving early Christmas bonus to every government employee. It just pisses the hell out of me.
Before all of this, I do not believe that even the most cold-hearted politician would ignore this big of a devastation. But then again, I live in the Philippines. Everything just surprises you, the bad kind of surprise.
Some people are telling me to stop criticizing the President cause he’s just human and he cannot do everything. Well, the Americans, Israelis, Canadians, Japanese and so many others including the thousands of Filipino volunteers are humans too and they are doing a lot better than he is. In fact, he is not doing anything at all. I have no problem whatsoever with what he does on his free time as long as he does his job. His inefficiency is causing additional casualities. Indirectly, he is murdering our own countrymen by not taking action.
It’s sad cause some people were dead not because of the typhoon but because of the hunger that we could’ve easily solved. I just want to say is that; the guilt lies on the people who has everything to do something but at the end does nothing.
I am sorry for my countrymen who were struck by typhoon Yolanda. They are in need of comfort and aid and yet all they are experiencing right now is still suffering.
I am disappointed with our government. President Benigno Aquino is a sorry excuse of a president. He’s not helping the typhoon victims because no LGU official was there to fetch him in the airport. Seriously? What the fuck Mr. president? You should know that these LGU officials are also victims of the typhoon and they are probably busy aiding their constituents. Unlike you, they don’t care about the photo op. So sorry if they weren’t there to pose with you for the photos. If foreign countries weren’t there to help us, worse could’ve happened. You are incompetent. I am not asking for perfection. Not at all. There’s a big difference between asking for perfection and not settling for mediocrity. All I want is for you to give justice to the position that you are in and justice for the people that you have failed.
I have a confession. I hate politics and I absolutely hate politicians more. Especially here in the Philippines. It has come to my great understanding that “delicadeza” is completely forgotten or in this situation, ignored. Plagiarism, claims of treason, corruption allegations and so much more yet our politicians, eventhough publicly humiliated by doing these things, they still believe that they have the right to represent the people. Well, I don’t know about you, but I absolutely hate the idea.
Campaign materials are everywhere, it’s not even campaign period yet. But look at that, I see more of the politicians’ faces than the people who are paid to appear on television, the actors and actresses. I have to give it to these politicians, they still have the guts to show their faces on tv when all they do is talk shit about each other.
Well, I would also like to thank you for dirtying our streets with your printed campaign materials. You’re saying that you want to save the Philippines, but in reality you are actually destroying the world.
Let us not forget how egoistic they all are, claiming that they can actually save us. Um, excuse me, for how many years are you going to say those promises? A lot of politicians have said the same things over and over again but I can’t see anything that’s changed at all, maybe for the worse but not for the better. You all act like you are some god’s gift to mankind. Well, excuse you, I don’t believe in a god and I absolutely don’t believe in you either.
So before you run for a public office, look at yourself in the mirror and think if you are actually worthy.
